get to know the Crusties that make enjoying our pastries possible!

Aimee, an honorary Crustie for life. She began as an evening baker in our part time kitchen in 2017 and organically grew into the manager of our kitchen. She is on to new adventures these days, but she helped make Crust what it is today and we are grateful for her occasional visits to see us when she pops by for a visit from Jersey.

This is Tanya! She has one daughter and four grandkids. Like many of the Crusties she loves horror movies and on her days off she enjoys going to Atlantic City. She is also a thrill seeker and loves a day filled with amusement park rides!

Ally was raised in western Pennsylvania, but has called Philadelphia home for more than a decade. She likes hiking, plants, the color yellow, xmas decorations, and watermelon. When she’s not at Crust, Ally is an artist, seamstress, and upholsterer.

Jordan comes to us from the eastern shore of Maryland. She moved to PA one year ago with her two cats, Preston & Amos. She is a lover of puns and bad jokes, and is usually lurking around a corner waiting to scare someone. This resident prankster loves watching a movie in the morning (bonus if it’s Sandra Bullock).

Gritty has become an icon for all of us in Philly, and we are proud to have him on the team thanks to our very own Sara bringing him to life for us. Seen here at the May queen, but you can catch him changing his outfit with the seasons & holidays throughout the year at our storefront :)

Booster of morale, resident longboy, wacky inflatable tube man, air dancer, tall boy wiggler, our new bff…we have many silly names for him and so far the only one that has stuck is Kevin, so maybe now we have two Kevins??

Born & raised just outside Philly, Sara is usually thinking about cinnamon buns. Her life revolves around exploring with her rescue pup Star & poorly gardening with her cat Jubie. Sara loves cake decorating, D&D, crusty pizza, & looking for Bigfoot (the truth is out there).

If you have been to the storefront you will know her by her infamous ears - Sydney has so many pairs that we have lost count! She loves rock music and horror movies, and her heavy Jersey accent is unmistakeable. We look forward to reading the book she plans to write about her life some day, believe me…this is one you will want to read! A tough cookie and a survivor of so much, we are sure it will be an inspiration to all.

This is Briana also known to many as Bre. Bre is a God fearing woman and she is a people person that loves to laugh and enjoys small talk and sarcasm. In her downtime she enjoys cooking, shooting pool, and reading. Cooking is a passion and someday she plans to own a catering company.

Rebecca is a city girl, born & raised in Philly. She worked in the behavioral health field for three years before becoming a baker. She loves baking cookies, treasure hunting at flea markets, watching Netflix  & staying active with dragon boat races and bouldering. She dreams of a backyard greenhouse!

Madailein grew up on the Eastern shore of Maryland and has lived in Philadelphia for over 4 years since she moved to go to pastry school. She has since been joined by her sister (they are 14 months apart) and their diabetic tortie cat Maude. She enjoys painting pottery, knitting, Animal Crossing, collecting earrings, dying her hair, and nightly histrionics with Maude.

In 2015 Shannon co-founded Crust and helped run the business until 2021. Though a Crustie for life, she left behind her recipes for things like zucchini bread and brownies and moved on to Baker Street Bread Co where you can find her buying even more flour than before. Shannon drinks too much seltzer and reads endless YA books next to her cat Babka.
